Interventional Radiology (IR) is the use of medical imaging modalities including ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI, to guide minimally invasive surgical procedures.
These procedures can be a useful tool in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions.
Applications used at VSC include:
- Ultrasound-guided aspiration cytology and biopsy
- Ultrasound-guided administration of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or stem cell injections
- Sub-ureteral bypass
- Tracheal ureteral and urethral stent placement
