Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology (IR) is the use of medical imaging modalities including ​ultrasound, fluoroscopy, ​CT, and MRI, to guide minimally invasive surgical procedures.

These procedures ​can be a useful tool in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions.

Applications used at VSC include:

  • Ultrasound​-guided ​aspiration cytology and biopsy
  • Ultrasound-guided administration of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or stem cell injections
  • Sub-ureteral bypass
  • Tracheal ureteral and urethral stent placement
